Painter Oudeschoot: maintenance with a plan

You don't have to put everything in straight away. We start with what is needed now and plan the rest ahead, so you also know what is coming in the next few years. A plan like that suits anyone who would rather plan ahead than repair afterwards.

No house ages evenly. As a rule of thumb, opaque exterior paintwork lasts roughly 6 to 8 years, with south and west facades and thresholds due sooner. That is why you can sometimes do the sunny side a bit earlier and the rest later, without losing anything.

That is not a fixed schedule but something we work out for your home. With an older home, the year of construction and the condition of the frames also play a part.

Of course that is fine too. Not everyone wants a ten-year plan, and they don't have to. A frame, a gable end or the inside of a room is just as welcome. Like the gable end in Heerenveen that we finished in white.

During a job like that we also have a look at the rest of your house. If we find something that needs attention in the short term, we tell you, with no strings attached. Once you have had a job done, you can always have a plan made for the rest of your home afterwards.

Tell us when it was last painted and what was done then, if you still know. Photos of all the facades help, as do the year of construction and the differences between front and back. If you have old invoices, keep them handy.

After that we come by for the site visit. We look at the surface, discuss the colours and the work, and record it in a plan or a quote. What works best for you, we decide together.

The price depends on the size of your house, the condition of the wood and how you divide the steps. A national market indication for exterior painting is from €35 per m2, for an exterior frame from €50 each and for wood rot from €50 per spot. Those are not MJA prices.
